This training will explore multigenerational substance abuse and how use affects caregivers and their children, especially those with co-occurring mental health challenges. This training will explore how we can help families engage in treatment to help them curtail and eventually stop their abuse of substances so that they may better access other needed mental health services. Additionally, this training will introduce the concept of harm reduction as a strength based, trauma informed approach to addressing substance abuse with youth, young adults, and their caregivers.
