Criteria for Qualifying Continuing Education Activities in a Retroactive Application for LMFT Credit in Massachusetts

To qualify for retroactive credit, the activity must be structured as a planned training event.

This means it must have:
  • An instructor who is qualified to teach the subject matter (see details below);
  • A syllabus and learning goals prepared prior to the start of the activity; and
  • A bibliography associated with it.
The sponsor/provider of the activity must:
  • Require that you complete an evaluation of the activity;
  • Provide you with a document that verifies your satisfactory completion of the activity: and
  • Maintain registration records that will include your name, license number, date of completion, and CE hours earned.

The content of the training must fall within one of the areas identified as the scope of practice for Massachusetts MFTs and approved by NEAFAST. The cost of this process is $30 for non-members, and $20 for members, regardless of how many CE certificates you send in.
