New Frontiers in Experiential Dynamic Therapy
Thursday, September 26, 2019, 8:00 AM to Saturday, September 28, 2019, 5:00 PM EDT
Category: CE Events: Couples

“Experiential Dynamic Therapy” (EDT) refers to a group of psychodynamic psychotherapists that focus on the healing power of deep affective experiences in the context of the therapist-patient dyad and other attachment relationships. Built on groundbreaking work of Habib Davanloo and others, EDT is now one of the best-researched forms of short-term therapy, with demonstrated efficacy in treating depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, and somatoform disorders. EDTs include Davanloo’s Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), Leigh McCullough’s Affect Phobia Therapy (APT), Diana Fosha’s Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), and others. Video recording of psychotherapy sessions is integral to EDT teaching, supervision, and research. As such, all clinical presentations will be accompanied by video of actual therapy sessions. Conference-goers have an unparalleled opportunity to sample a wide variety of stylistic variations in the practice of EDT. Because the conference includes patient video, it is open only to licensed professionals and students in full-time training to become licensed professionals.

Hosted by William James College in Boston, MA. This 3-day course provides 18 CEs. For more info, visit: www.cvent.com/d/0bqgnd.
