This is an intermediate level training for practitioners with some knowledge and experience using Motivational Interviewing interventions. The focus of this workshop will be on hands-on practice of MI skills, including advanced OARS application, strategies for increasing change talk, and an introduction to MI fidelity coding skills. All of these areas will be taught primarily through participants engaging in practice activities and learning by doing. This is an opportunity to deepen individual MI practice and begin to look at systemic applications for coaching MI practice with others. This workshop assumes a basic understanding of the underlying theory and spirit of MI, allowing participants to work on applying those to real conversations about change they may encounter in clinical practice.
