Description of Activity:
This presentation will review the new APA guidelines for working with Complex Trauma and explore best practices in treatment approaches and interventions to help clients address and heal from symptoms of complex trauma.
This training will utilize large group and small group discussion to meet the following learning objectives:
1. Participants will be able to identify and diagnose Complex PTSD through the utilization of various assessments.
2. Participants will identify 2-3 therapeutic approaches to work with Complex Trauma.
3. Participants will develop 2-3 therapeutic techniques to work through "hot spots" and "stuck points" for individuals with Complex Trauma.
Dr. Jessica Holmes is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapy who has over 15 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Dr. Holmes completed her PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy through National University specializing in diversity, equity, and social justice in a global context. Dr. Holmes has a background in community mental health working with underserved populations. She has worked with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, adjustments, and psychosis. She has worked with couples struggling with communication issues, intimacy issues, and future planning as well as families struggling with conflict, structure, and communication.
