This training will look at the role of the brain and attachments i n understanding addiction and providing guidance for treatment. The Stages of Recovery, as researched by Judith Herman, as well as DiClemente and Proc haskas' Stages of Change will be taught to better understand how to provide effective treatment in an outpatient setting. A better understanding of ho w a person becomes addicted and the challenges people who addictions face w ill be offered to participants. Given the enormous Opioid crisis in our cou ntry, and in particular, in our area, this workshop will demystify the work for clinical practitioners and offer a model that is evidenced based.
