Why do we sleep? We sleep because it is essential to our daily living. Each good night’s sleep restores the body and the mind with the energy and the motivation to tackle each new day. But what happens when we get limited hours or poor quality of sleep? Over time, the lack of sleep or poor sleep quality can overcome the ability to stay awake which can impact our health, well‑being, and safety. Healthcare professionals and others will be able to incorporate the tools and practices in this program to understand sleep’s important role in good physical and mental health and to identify ways to improve sleep quality and quantity.
