NEAFAST Consortium

The NEAFAST Consortium is a collection of training centers which specializes in educating family and systemic therapists. NEAFAST members can receive discounts to continuing education events at these sites:

The Couples & Family Institute of New England provides a diversity of workshops and training programs for mental health professionals who work with couples and families. CFINE hosts events in Northampton, MA, and is directed by Nancy Knudsen, LMFT; and Jack LaForte, PhD, LMFT.

The Narrative Therapy Initiative trains mental health professionals to understand problems from a social justice perspective. Recognizing stories as primary frameworks for interpretation, NTI trains practitioners to work with people’s relationship with stories, which are frequently shaped by culturally privileged and oppressive norms. NTI trains practitioners to develop skills of curiosity that help separate people from problem stories while connecting with stories they would rather shape their lives and relationships. NTI offer various levels of training in Salem, MA, the greater Boston area, and on-line, and is directed by Stephen Gaddis, PhD, LMFT.

The South Shore Sexual Health Center uses systemic principles to train sexuality educators, counselors, and therapists. An AASECT-approved training site, SSSHC hosts events in Quincy, MA, and is directed by Stephen Duclos, LMFT.

Therapy Training Boston provides a wide variety of professional development opportunities, including workshops, retreats, and ongoing courses in family systems therapy and couples therapy. TTB hosts events in Watertown, MA, and is directed by Liz Brenner, LICSW.
