Leveraging Neuroscience and Our Innate Resilience to Maintain Well-Being in the Pandemic (and Beyond)
Tuesday, March 01, 2022, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EDT
Category: CE Events: Adult Individuals

Humans are sensitive creatures and we do not like uncertainty. The pandemic ignited uncertainty, on a multitude of levels, for all of us. As a result, our stress response has been chronically activated leading to allostatic load and unhealthy coping patterns among many. This physiological activation is likely at the root of the burgeoning mental health crisis, increased rates of substance misuse, poor health behaviors, interpersonal violence, and stress-related medical conditions. Our willingness to be aware of our own vulnerability and strength is the first invitation towards resilience. This presentation will draw upon neuroscience and clinical expertise to better understand current levels of distress as well as applications of these concepts to enhance well-being.
