BattleMind Plus describes the impact of the deployment cycle on service members, the changes caused by military training and immersion in a combat setting, and the cultural challenges in the transition home. Kevin Lambert, Iraq Army veteran offers a first-person account of his experiences and wisdom gained in his transition home. This training provides a developmental approach to mental health skill building timed to the specific phases of a soldier’s career and deployment cycle. It will provide an orientation to military culture and how it is instilled by both training and deployment. By offering an opportunity to hear about the personal experiences of service members in military training, deployment and reintegration, this program will deepen the relationship between healthcare providers and the military community.
