This introductory course is designed for those who are interested in exploring ways to incorporate animal assisted psychotherapy into their clinical practice. this course includes a live experiential demonstration of animal assisted psychotherapy with dogs, exploration of ethical issues in animal assisted psychotherapy, and review of the research supporting animal assisted psychotherapy. Participants will be able to demonstrate actionable knowledge on how to integrate animal assisted psychotherapy into their own clinical practice.Participants will be able to list the various clinical interventions applicable to common issues treated via animal assisted psychotherapy.Participants will be able to create treatment plans for clients utilizing animal assisted psychotherapy with dogs.
